Poll: How much SPAM do you receive?

As a result of a few comments in my previous post about the amount of Spamming emails people receive as a result of their website or blog, I figured that I should start a poll to see how much SPAM people actually receive. This is my first poll, and it was made extremely easy thanks to the Democracy plugin that I found for Wordpress.
All I had to do was a tiny bit of Sidebar editing and edit the poll options and it was done. Simple!

Aims of the poll?
My aim of this poll is to see the extent of how spam has taken over the internet. I want to have qualitative data to see whether spammers are actually becoming more and more of a nuisance. I will place the first vote, which is in the “0-10″ category, because at the moment (fortunately) this site has not been indexed in Google. I am expecting more SPAM in the future though.

I will be posting the results of the poll in one week’s time, so please voice your opinion so that we can come to some sort of formal conclusion.

UPDATE: Once you have placed your poll you will be taken to a blank page, so please refresh the Blogtrepreneur home page! Sorry about the inconvenience

I have each of my email addresses posted on my sites, which all generate quite a bit of traffic and I would say that combined (between four emails) I get between 10 and 20 SPAM messages a day. Not bad at all for email addresses that anyone can get to. I personally think the whole thing is overblown and most people get “SPAM” because of things they sign up for and don’t read all of the terms of service.

Although you say 10 or 20 spams isn’t bad, really we shouldn’t be getting any spam. We do live in an age of growing technology. Is there no way that we can stop spammers from sending out massive bulk emails?

I don’t really sign up to that many services, and I don’t think the bigger companies would sell your email address, but then who knows? Many smaller companies might give out your address for extra cash, and if so, this is extremely wrong and should be dealt with.

If I were you, I would use a contact form on your site, this might reduce your spam levels even more. Keep us updated if you do decide to do this.
Thanks for your comment Adam, this is what I love at Blogtrepreneur, Juicy Discussion!!!

I get around 10 a day. I’m pretty careful with posting my email address. You won’t find it on my blog or in any forums. I guess some site I signed up with sold it or something. Bad morals!

Filtering Spam is fairly complicated I suppose. I think the best solution involves the email readers. If people would just ignore spam and never open it the spammers would stop. Why would spammers be going to the trouble of sending all that junk mail if no one ever opened it.
