So as Im sitting here on another sweltering July day, I’m wondering why I actually blog. Is it for self-respect, to earn money, to make new relationships or simply because Im bored. Well in fact, it’s all of them! At some points during the half a year I’ve been blogging, I’ve wanted to blog as a result of all of these. However in this series, I want to state and explain the different reasons why people blog, and use some case-studies to back up some of my ideas.
Hopefully you, as my readers, can provide a little insight into the reasons why you blog through commenting on some of the posts, as this backs up a reason why I blog: in order to start relationships and build networks of like-minded young entrepreneurs.
My first post in the series will commence tomorrow, where I will be focusing on the materialistic side of blogging: the potential revenue and wealth that can be obtained, and the people who blog in order to do this. Rather than repeat myself, just read my post on Why I blog. I tell you one thing, it isn’t because I’m making money doing it. My adSense is horrific.

Networking is key. My traffic has been a little better. However, most of it is because of my Google Maps Tutorial. If it wasn’t for that all my views would be from loyal vistors. Did you know that at one time I was the number 1 search result on Google for “Google Maps API tutorial.” Not bad! I think I’m # 10 now. Maybe I should focus on putting more ads on that page.
Its hard to believe you had a $0 week. I think you readers are my inclined to click on ads than mine are because most of them are also fellow entrepreneurs while mine are a mixture of tech and entrepreneurs.

Really, No.1 for API, thats very good. I don’t even know what that is, is it like MultiMap? I’ll take a look at your tutorial.
I still don’t know why I had a $0 week, maybe because my loyal readers focus more upon looking at the content, and have developed ad-blindness which I don’t really mind seeing as I have it as well.
Im starting to focus more on Adbrite and TLA now, because that is more like a guaranteed income to support the site. You can see it taking place in my sidebar. BTW if you could customise it to look like the other text, that would be great Matt. Thanks

I’ll look at customizing the text look. Hopefully, it isn’t all javaScript coming from adbrite or TLA. If that is the case applying style may not work. I’ll just have to look and see. BTW I hope you clicked on my TLA add to sign up for TLA so that I can get a little credit for the referral.
