Poll Results: Google Way Ahead Of Competition

The current poll, “What Program or Affiliate Brings you the Highest Revenue from your Website?” has now gone on for quite some time - and I’ve been able to gather some pretty conclusive data once again. Thankyou to everyone who placed their votes and I hope we can continue to solve the mysteries surrounding entrepreneurship, business and making money online.
Here are the results with the percentage that each answer made up against the total number of votes first, followed by the amount of people who voted next in brackets:
* Adsense: 61% (17)
* Text Link Ads: 18% (5)
* Linkshare and CJ (Per-Sale Based Programs): 14% (4)
* Chitika: 4% (1)
* Amazon: 4% (1)
* YPN: 0% (0)
We had 28 votes overall which was the lowest so far - but I think it was a slightly more complicated poll (still not rocket science though!).
As we can see Google still has the market share of users with 61% of the total vote. I think figure just represents the ease of use of Adsense. It’s still probably the simplest around: all you need to do is signup for an account, customize your ads and then paste a small bit of html code wherever you want the ads to appear.
Unsuprisingly Text Link Ads seems to be the next most popular money-making program with 18% of the vote. I’ve experienced the earning power of TLA as I got $25 for just 1 referral - easy money! I would definitely encourage everyone to get an account with TLA because its FREE! You could earn money through selling links on your site or through the referral program like me. At the moment I’m waiting for my site to get a PR from Google as the domain is still quite new.
CJ.com is still fairly popular with 14% of the vote but I think the slightly more complicated website and procedure is off-putting. Finally Chitika and Amazon don’t seem to be pulling in the money for most people. A while back I tested Amazon links here on Blogtrepreneur but I didn’t manage to rack up any sales. The commission per sale also isn’t very good.
Finally Yahoo and MSN had no votes which just goes to show how well their main competitor Google is doing and how popular it still is with internet moguls.
Exercise Is Important For Entrepreneurs

Exercise, exercise, exercise. No doubt you keep hearing those words over and over again - whether they’re from your doctor, your mum or your conscience - everyone keeps telling you to exercise. But do you actually need to step outside the study and go for a run? What if you havn’t got the time or just can’t be bothered? The answer >> stop being lazy and create time.
My Story: I exercise pretty much everyday. Im an active type of person so if Im stuck indoors for too long I get lethargic and unproductive. The fact of the matter is that if you find time to get outside and go for a run or a jog, you’ll feel more refreshed coming back onto the computer or your workplace and thus will be more productive and will save more time on the menial and less important tasks.
So what exercise can you do? The answer >> any sport or action that makes the heart work is good for you as good for your mind. Giving your cardiac muscle a good workout has been proved many times over to help maintain health and physique. There’s nothing worse than an entrepreneur with a beer-belly. And if Blain’s post about The Importance of Image over at the YE Blog is anything to go by, it might prove to be a hindrance in reaching your goals.
I love to play tennis, football (soccer) and hockey to make me work hard and to improve my cardiovascular strength but at the same time - gentle sports like golf and cricket in the open air can improve mental concentration. They’re also fun and can therefore release stresses that you may encounter due to hectic entrepreneurial schedules day in, day out.
So the next time you’re bogged down with work - manage your time so you can fit in at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise. Not only will you be ensuring a healthier future, you’ll also be ensuring a more productive day in the workplace.
Celebrate Good Times C’mon!

I’m in a really good mood after a fantastic party thrown by my parents celebrating the exam results of my sister and I.
For the past 3 years I’ve been working towards my GCSE results and on Thursday I finally managed to find out what I got - 10 A*s! I was over the moon and I’ve got to say now that Im glad I paid attention in class over the years.
Anyway, we had a house party with relatives and close friends coming to our house from far and wide. We all had a great time even though I was on my feet for most of the time! But it got me thinking about reaching goals in general.
As a rule of thumb, entrepreneurs strive to reach their goals - whether they be financial, mental or otherwise - and don’t stop until they find success. But what happens when they arrive at this target? Some might move onto the next project and not look back on achievements, but I think that it’s definitely in order to celebrate.
What’s the use of setting goals if you don’t enjoy the benefits of hard work? Its only adequate and human nature that you celebrate the fruits of your labour as this will reinforce the scale of your task. Celebrations could include a quiet night out with your friends, or it could mean a full blown party at a local hall, or it could be a small pat on the back (for the introverts out there!) Either way it’s good to acknowledge your achievements so that you can be proud of what you’ve done, or so you can tell other people about your great reach into the world.
You shouldn’t think that just because you’re an entrepreneur, success is expected. Definitely not. Success should be met with open arms and accomplishment should be recognised. Celebrate good times - come on!
100 Posts In The Making

You may not have realised it, but I certainly have. Yup believe it or not Blogtrepreneur has managed to rack in 100 posts since I first opened the doors back in February of this year. I feel I’ve come a long way: I’ve learned a lot about myself as a person and as an entity, I’ve learned a lot about other people, their feelings and their attitudes and I’ve learned a lot about the internet, technology and the constant evolution that’s taking place around us whether you know about it or not.
One of the main reasons why I started blogging in the first place was to earn some cash. There that’s the truth! But over this time my motives have changed, and my outlook on money itself has altered in a positive way. Im no longer obsessed with money and I am now beginning to start e-businesses left, right and centre.
Along the way I’ve built up my internet recognition to the point where 100 or so people who I’ve never met actually know who I am and what I love - entrepreneurship! The bonds I’ve made with others who share this same passion and drive for “success” are unbeliavable and I never thought I’d be able to build such a community around me. To those who have helped me come this far - thankyou, and to those who may help me in the future develop my main interest - I can’t wait to work with you!
So what’s next for The Blogtrepreneur? I’m on the net for good and I don’t think I can go back to the £4.50 per hour Saturday job (and don’t get me started on golf caddying!). Hopefully I can get GolfChum off the ground along with my forum. Diversity is the key and I’ll continue to expand my interests through blogging and meeting with other people.
Never stand still …looking for change and breaking away from the norm is a courageous trait and one which I am happy to possess and share with you here at Blogtrepreneur. Thanks for staying tuned and let’s take Blogtrepreneur to the next level!
Blogtreprelinking - 26.08.06
Whilst I’ve been catching up on all the latest gossip from around the blogosphere I realised that there’s just too much to take in, so I wanted to share all of the new changes and information that’s been put up on the net in the past 2 weeks. I’ll do this in the form of a Problogger Speedlink (sorry for stealing your idea Darren!), but I’ve changed the name to make it that much more unique! Enjoy:
Phew - so that’s it for this Blogtreprelink! This has been fun so I might do it more regularly. Anyway tell me what you think and thanks to everyone who’s linked to me, I really appreciate it.
