Exercise, exercise, exercise. No doubt you keep hearing those words over and over again - whether they’re from your doctor, your mum or your conscience - everyone keeps telling you to exercise. But do you actually need to step outside the study and go for a run? What if you havn’t got the time or just can’t be bothered? The answer >> stop being lazy and create time.
My Story: I exercise pretty much everyday. Im an active type of person so if Im stuck indoors for too long I get lethargic and unproductive. The fact of the matter is that if you find time to get outside and go for a run or a jog, you’ll feel more refreshed coming back onto the computer or your workplace and thus will be more productive and will save more time on the menial and less important tasks.
So what exercise can you do? The answer >> any sport or action that makes the heart work is good for you as good for your mind. Giving your cardiac muscle a good workout has been proved many times over to help maintain health and physique. There’s nothing worse than an entrepreneur with a beer-belly. And if Blain’s post about The Importance of Image over at the YE Blog is anything to go by, it might prove to be a hindrance in reaching your goals.
I love to play tennis, football (soccer) and hockey to make me work hard and to improve my cardiovascular strength but at the same time - gentle sports like golf and cricket in the open air can improve mental concentration. They’re also fun and can therefore release stresses that you may encounter due to hectic entrepreneurial schedules day in, day out.
So the next time you’re bogged down with work - manage your time so you can fit in at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise. Not only will you be ensuring a healthier future, you’ll also be ensuring a more productive day in the workplace.

It probably depends what you’re in business for. If you want to make a quick buck you can probably muster up enough focus and energy without exercising atall!

True true! But then again making the quick buck requires 1 or 2 days of a great idea put into practice - or a bad idea which fails miserably. Im not sure which quick buck ideas you’re thinking of, but I can think of none that actually pay out the rewards you expect.
Its the full-time, 24 hour entrepreneur I was thinking about more, the ones who never rest, never sleep (and therefore never get a chance to exercise!).

I go cycling everyday. I find the exercise helps motivate me and feel more energetic.
