How Many Comments Can I Get On This Post?
Lately I’ve been noticing a decline in the number of comments and commentators surfing around Blogtrepreneur. Maybe its been because the main people have been away on holiday, or maybe they’ve just moved away from my blog :(. Either way I thought it was time to get user interaction levels on the up once again.
Today I want to do a little experiment. How many comments can I get on this one single post? So far throughout my whole blogging history, my best performing article has been “5 Ways To Piss Off An Entrepreneur“. This netted me 12 comments and 13 trackbacks thanks to Problogger’s Group Writing Project.
But I want this to change. So if you’re just browsing, take a few seconds to leave a comment to let me know that you’ve dropped by - and spread the word so that I can get an extremely high number of comments on this one post alone! Thanks and let’s all share the success. Maybe we can break a new world record and enter into the Guinness Book!

YEA! First post!
I stopped by to see what insight you had this afternoon.
Regards!
I’m in for one. I’m quiet - I should comment more.
Here’s one for you. Hey, maybe you’d like to leave a comment on my blog too - mine’s just started and comments are running at a big, fat zero!
MVC- most valued commenter here. *jk*
Via RSS. Now I’m going to go read “5 Ways to Piss Off an Entrepreneur
Hi. I’m one of your frequenters. It’s about time I stop just lurking around.
Representing numero trois!
It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality.
Oh wait, this is the Internet. Never mind!

Hey, I’m here. I check out your blog regularly (via your feed), but haven’t been commenting as much lately. I’m with you; I like getting lots of comments. The feedback lets me know that they’re reading and getting something out of it.
LOL I love getting comments! You’re right Ray its so satisfying seeing loads of comments awaiting moderation - makes me feel popular! I hope you all continue to comment and please spread the word. So far we’ve got 8 unique commenters and I want to hit 30 at least!
But thankyou Cat, Leroy, Simon, Rohail, Alfa, Travis, Arthur and Ray for stopping by!
I bookmarked you site a couple of days of ago because it seems interesting and I wanted to look throught when I had more time.
Here’s another comment.
Just adding to the pile
(i just got a massive php error though haha, hope this isn’t a re-post)
Just surfing through and thought I’d contribute. You might be interested to know that one of my new clients cited your blog as an example of blog design that he likes, hence my discovery of your blog.
My three got delayed to six. So here’s numero 12 which’ll probably be 15 or so.
Thanks for that link Burty - I think Im gonna install that plugin - most blogs i read have it in and it gives cred. to commenters. Good idea.
Thanks Artiatesia, Tim and Sarah for dropping by. Tim sorry that you got that PHP error. Did anyone else get that? Sometimes I get the same problem.
Sarah - I love the design of your blog too. Very clean and “CopyBlogger”ish (sorry to class the 2 together). Im glad you like my design - its just a modded template though.
Finally sorry Travis! I had to moderate your comment along with a few others that got caught in Akismet. But thanks for the recomment - now you’re definitely number 15!
Please keep on commenting and spreading the word. I want to reach 30 at least! And thanks again guys.
PS - trying to unsubscribe from the comments in this post results in this:
“Error 404 - Not Found
Hmmm. You seem to be either lost, snooping, or have come to a link that has been moved elsewhere or perhaps never even existed at all. Whatever it is, you’re not going to find it here, so go on and move along. There’s nothing to see here… (and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.)”
Any other ways to unsubscribe?
Hello.
Travis - Im really sorry about that and I’ve also noticed that error. Im going to get my programming friend to take a look ASAP because it seems like its a dead link. For the moment sorry but I don’t think theres a way to unsubscribe.
And Shawn - short and sweet I like it.
I justed want to apologize in advance to you Travis and to anyone else who is experiencing the same problem. Ill keep you updated on the bug fix.
testing
I think the Subscribe to Comments should work now - I just installed a new plugin so now you shouldnt be subscribed Travis as I disabled the last plugin.
Im just testing it out now.
Yup, it works now. Thanks Adnan.
No problem mate. Keep linking to me everyone, 30 comments is nigh!
Here’s a comment so you know I’m still around even with limited Internet access. I’ve still got to answer your comment you left me a week or so ago and check my email. I’m still around. My poor blog has suffered from my limited net access
So I also miss having comments.
Still here, frequent reader, not so frequent commenter, still enjoying the site
Lol thanks a lot Matt. Glad to know you’re still with us - I’ve been trying to contact you about various errors Im getting here on Blogtrepreneur. I left a comment on your post and emailed you via your contact form and email address!
If you could try and follow up on those that would be great. I hope you get internet access soon mate! I need you
And thanks Chris for dropping by and for continuing to read Blogtrepreneur - really means a lot to me.
You know me, I almost always have a comment. Occasionally they make sense, most of the time Arthur’s evaluation applies (@Arthur, that gave me a good chuckle, thanks).
Been away from active participation for a couple weeks because I moved from the western USA to the northern Philippines and haven’t had a great deal of time for blogging … but persevere, I always find something worth reading here.
Thanks for dropping by Dave and I hope the move to the Philippines went well for you. Lol yeah Arthur’s comment did make me laugh but he is right. As a blogger throwing out a few hundred amateur posts really is becoming more important than a few quality posts.
That’s why I try and find a balance in between and try to post frequently but with quality. I hope you find that Im doing that - and Im guessing that’s what’s bringing you back.
Great to have you onboard Dave and missing you in the forums!
Havnt had any trackbacks or pingbacks to this post, so please post in on your blog if you’re able to. I’ve got about 24 unique comments and I havnt hit the 30 mark which I was aiming for!
Thanks guys
I’ll help build your stats… great blog so it deserves great stats.
You may want to look into BlogCarnival. I’ve been publishing the Carnival of eBay Sellers and it has brought me lots of new visitors, and comments.
Good luck with your blogging future.

Just found from Ray’s blog your new hobby is collecting comments. So be it!! This is innocent hobby. I have been to your blog before but lately haven’t been visiting blogs all that much. It must be bloody cold in England now. Even in Aus its not that hot despite official summer
Hey Tom and Syed,
Thanks for commenting and for boosting the number!
Tom - thanks for giving me the link to eBay Sellers Carnival. I don’t really write that much about eBay but I have written one article which would go down well.
Syed - thanks for dropping by (and thumb’s up to Ray for referral trackback!). Lol I just felt that comments were drying up a bit and I wanted to up the reader interaction with the blog. Yeah England is at around 0-10 degrees everyday which is normal.
Guys Im at 19 unique commenters so please keep referring people to my site just like Ray at FreshBlogger!
Hello Adnan,
In case you care, this kat is scraping some of your content:
http://www.themoneyblogs.com/blogtrepreneur/my.blog/teentrepreneurcom—my-first-attempt-at-an-ais.html
Thought I’d add one more unique to your comment count.
BTW, I didn’t live link that last URL, you blog software did it for me. I just put the text there.
Hey 45n5. Thanks for the comment.
Im glad someone else has spotted that. I’ve been trying to get that **** to get my site’s feed off his site but he won’t respond. Its ridiculous because for some terms he ranks higher than me in the search engines.
Can any of you guys please help me and get that guy to get my blog off his site. Its really annoying me.
And no problem about the link mate. Everyone needs to know!
/me waves
Lol thanks for that Jamsi. Im at 21 unique comments now and it looks as though I won’t reach 30 - Jamsi if you could place a link to this post - that would be awesome!
But thanks for dropping by and hope Workboxers is doing well, I check on it everyday!
Reference comment 35 and scraping (stealing) content. There are so many fine minds blogging and so much programming talent out there .. new services and applications released every day … why on earth can’t someone come up with a decent solution to the scraper splogs?
Even Google, who in most cases I feel does an excellent job, completely misses the boat on this.
One possible solution lies in publication date, or perhaps I should say “date first seen”. Google falls down in regular search functions on this as well … search a term and you are likely to get 1999 information mixed in at random with the latest 2006 hits.
We need something perhaps like an independent third-party service that would time stamp web pages upon request and then the sploggers could be easily identified. Wonder who wants to take up the challenge?
Hey Adnan,
I found your blog listed on Gobala Krishan’s blog at http://www.easywordpress.com/labs/
and decided to check out your blog.
i’d go with what the other commenters said and would look for quality posts and comments than sheer number. i’m sure like any other popular blogger you’d get your fair share of spammy posts too.
i doubt you’d want to subject yourself or your readers to this drek by publishing it. so stick to the good stuff and no doubt you’d see your readership growing organically as time goes by.
cheers!
“why on earth can’t someone come up with a decent solution to the scraper splogs?”
I completely agree with you. Instead of just trying to manually stop these scrapers, why isn’t there some sort of technological system to prevent information from simply being copy and pasted or RSS’ed to another site. It really is ridiculous.
I still havn’t been able to get a response out of TheMoneyBlogs - Im annoyed because they made my login account for me as well - so I don’t even have the password!
At Andrew - sorry i didn’t get your comment earlier - it got caught in my Akismet spam filter. Thanks for coming through to Blogtrepreneur, and thanks to Gobala for the referral (if you’re reading this!)
I try and post my fair share of quality posts but at the same time what’s to stop me having a bit of fun/competition at the same time! Work hard play harder is the motto.
Thanks for commenting!
Comment collecting eh? Hmmm!
Got to add a comment - avid lurkers. New year resolution: contribute more.
Send you an inquiry via andproductions hope you get it.
Happy New Year
Lol thanks for the comment Ken. So far I havn’t received your inquiry though - what was it about?
UPDATE: At 24 unique comments! 6 more needed!
hey Adnan! Saw you dropped by DotSauce lately, came to check out your new stuff
Hey Adnan! Look at you with 728 subsrcribers! That’s awesome! Keep up the good work! We love it!
Look…it’s years later and this post is still gathering comments. Sorta fun, eh?
Why not haha
