The 1000th Comment
Posted on 03. May, 2007 by Adam in Entrepreneurship
A quick post again as stuff’s still being added to the site, but I’m nearing the 1000th comment on this blog. For me this is a great big massive deal so to celebrate it, I’m giving away a free month long PR5 text link in the sidebar of this blog for the 1000th commenter! This link is worth $40 per month and if you don’t win, and you want to pay for advertising, then feel free to contact me so that we can discuss more advertising options. Of course, image ads will be rolled out soon.
All I’m going to say is that we’re very close to the 1000th comment so get your comments in. The result will be announced on Monday as I’m away this weekend on a school trip.
Have a good weekend, and good luck!

I don’t think I’m even close to 500 comments. Congrats on getting to 1000.

Very good, Adnan … I am so far away from a thousand comments on any of my blogs that it’s mind boggling. First chance I have had to drop by here since you got the new design up too. It looks good, I like it even better than the prototype we looked at … more refined and polished now
Congrats on the PR 5 too. I got a boost on my main blog as well … seems like Google couldn’t figure out how to make their move on the updates, but hey, they started this Page Rank sleigh ride ,it’s up to them to keep the course open. Best regards.

ooh, PR5?!? I just started my blog, so being the 1000th commenter and getting that ad would be schweet.
Congrats on the PR5!

Hey Adnan, I’d be interested to know what your comment to post ratio is? I reckon this is a good way to judge the interactivity of a blog.

Hey Guys – thanks for all the comments. The results are in and they will be revealed very shortly.
Keep going on all your blogs guys and you’ll also get to 1000 very soon!
Stu – great question. Basically, I’ve added all my comments and divided them by the number of posts and my comment to post ratio is 5:1 which I think is pretty good for an “amateur” blog! How about you guys’ blogs – whats your ratio and how interactive is your blog?

That 5:1 is a really impressive number. I’m currently at around 1.9:1 :-(
Keep trying I guess… :-)

My Blog to Comment ratio will be around 1:1 too, which is pretty bad. I’ve started a thread at the Digitak Point forum, so it has started getting me regular comments now. Also, leaving comments on other blogs is also a good way of getting comments to your blog.

Yeah definitely. You really have to try hard to try and create a good community around you, and one of the easiest ways to do this, is to keep creating commentable content.
