So much time has passed here on the new and updated Blogtrepreneur without me explaining more about my new monetization methods. Since the kerfuffle with Google, I thought it best to really broaden my horizons so that the same feeling of being “stung” wouldn’t happen to me ever again. In the process I focused on a more in your face but lucrative form of making money online - Direct Advertising.
For those of you who don’t know, I would firstly recommend checking out Maki’s series on direct advertising which includes setting rates and marketing your ad packages.
On the site at the moment, my main money earners are TextLinkAds - which manage to make me consistent earnings due to the selling of text links. These links are above the fold mostly and will reap all the SEO benefits of this Pageranked 5 blog.
Now, due to the scrapping of Adsense and Adbrite in this new design, I wanted to fill up the spaces with something more aesthetically pleasing and with greater potential for the advertiser and for myself. Direct advertising was the obvious solution as it allowed me to set my own rates without any companies tucking into my profits, and I can totally customise the ads to suit you guys and the design of the blog.

Most sites that accept banner advertising use a banner ad server that allows them to rotate the banner ads on their site — and those are typically javascripts which the search engines cannot read.
Word of mouth and flyers are probably going to be the cheapest way to get your name out there. You can hire students to hand out flyers on campus. Where I went to college (University of New Mexico) there was always a guy handing out flyers in a funny outfit, everyone laughed but they were one of the most popular lunch places in the area.
Simply think of a coupon offer for group discounts, family discounts, student discounts..anything you can think of and presto!- you can advertise for FREE- pay only for every coupon redemption.
every time their advert appears on sceen and turning off the radio when I hear it start. On principal due to this constant advertising I will not shop at their stores.
