  1. That is pretty big list on blogging topic. It really shows how blogging revolution has evolved. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for a great list.

About the first book you list:
I’m a sceptic of video. Some people are visual, others aren’t.

The content of a video is usually slight. What is said in a video could usually be read far more quickly. Text is also easier to scan and move around in.

None of which is relevant to people who are visual.

The advantage of video is that it lets people have a sense of knowing you. So each blog may benefit from a couple of videos on the main topic of the blog.

The drawback - they absolutely chew through the bytes. For those who have a limitation on download capacity - it is necessary to be very frugal with video.

For blogs about information, text is where it’s at.

  3. Just so you know - because Blogger are so good about letting you put any HTML you want into the template, it’s entirely possible to use templates that other people have written. Google “3 column Blogger templates” and have a browse around - I found the nifty expandable posts function on a similar kind of site as well, although that one’s a little more coding-intensive. And incidentally, The New Influencers Book also comes heavily recommended by my sister. I may steal it off her shortly.

  4. Simon says:

Excellent list - added some to my wishlist!

One not mentioned which I quite like is Problogger by Darren Rowse - I am fairly new to blogging and found this an excellent book which I am constantly dipping in and out of.

  5. Adnan says:

Good list Adam - one book which you’ve missed off the list is Problogger The Book by Darren Rowse (http://probloggerbook.com/).

That’s gotta be up there with the greats just because Darren is probably the biggest expert on blogs there is!

  6. yea, definitely ProBlogger would be a good addition! Looks like some great resources though!

  7. Lolita says:

Thanks! This is a great list and trully helpful for a newbie like me. I am looking forward to building my own blog site soon. Just to share, I came upon BusinessHQR.com and I think this would be a good reference to start on my blog site too.
