Top 3 Fashion Sites

Fashion ShoppingJust as the AT&T commercial tells us that “there’s an app for that,” it seems that there’s a social networking site for almost any niche under the sun. For those who actually have a social life outside of the computer room and who like to look good when they venture out, a number of fashion sites exist for those fashionistas, trendsetters and style seekers. No longer is there any need for you to commit a fashion faux pas, or find that you engage the attention of the fashion police, as every element of what is chic, “in” and hip is covered online. Coming down the runway towards you, the Young Entrepreneur’s top three fashion sites:

1. Style Hive

This is an interactive site where engaged members compete with each other to deliver the latest story about those hot trends. You can become a member of this community while classifying yourself as “collective”, “stylish” or even just “sensible.” You can be sure that you will get the cutting edge advice within this community. Style Hive prides itself on its extensive collection of high-end product information while catering to all who are true fashion followers. The site has been designed to spur this interaction, which sets it a little bit apart from its competition and the interface has, in itself, a rather stylish appeal.

2. Chictini

Chictini adopts the review approach and relies on its members to vote on a variety of trends. As a member, you will start out as a virgin but could eventually become an acclaimed fashionista. You had better know what you are doing, however, as you do not want to be relegated to the C-list for your fashion ineptitude. The concept of the site is based on trending and the power of social networking to ensure the cream rises to the top. It is not as visually appealing as Style Hive and only a limited amount of information is available about its members; you might like to wear your heart on your sleeve, but we can’t see it. A regularly hosted live show is a great concept, which they should expand upon.

3. Chictopia

Chictopia takes the social networking concept and drills it down even further. You can connect to those who are similar to you in terms of their preferences, shape, age or skin tone. When such a connection is made, you may interact with trendsetters specific to your type. While members of other sites may hide behind their computer screens and not feel that they are truly interacting with peers, in this instance everyone can find acceptance and adoption and thus the level of enthusiasm is that much greater. As there is such openness there is a strong sense of trust which, after all, should be at the very forefront of any social network. Cutting edge, trendy – and real?
