CashCrate: Is it a Scam?

Making money online, all from the comfort of your home, is no longer just a millennial dream. More and more people around the world are making money online as we speak, with more avenues and opportunities to do so popping up than ever before. CashCrate is one website that lets people make money online, but receives its fair share of doubts amongst praise from bloggers. Let’s take a closer look at and you will decide for yourself.

What is CashCrate?

CashCrate allows people to make money online by completing quizzes, taking part in online surveys, shopping online, registering for online offers and essentially giving your email address. They currently have over 2 million members around the world and pay out thousands of dollars every month to their members. If you haven’t heard of CashCrate, you may be familiar with similar companies to them like Swagbucks, Global Test Market and Vindale.

To get started on Cashcrate, it is highly recommended that you first create a new email address that you will use solely for CashCrate. This might sound unnecessary to you if you already have your own email address or several others, however you will be thankful to have a separate email address because you can expect to be spammed almost immediately. By having a separate email address for your CashCrate activity, you don’t need to be worried about receiving tonnes of spam as you’ll only ever be checking this email when you are looking for a specific activation or registration confirmation email.

Special Tip: If you use a Google address for your CashCrate activity, you can also get a Google Voice number, and use that number whenever a phone number is needed to be entered.

Once you have your new email address, signing up to CashCrate is super easy and quick.

You can sign up here plus CashCrate will give you your first $1 free! Score!

Note, you must be at least 13 years old to have a CashCrate account. Generally, members from the United States and other English speaking countries will have the most offers available to them, but members from other countries are still welcome and should sign up to see what’s available.

How do I money online with CashCrate?

is cashcrate a scam

There are several ways to make money on CashCrate, but popular methods are completing surveys, registering for free and/or paid offers (which you can later cancel so it ultimately doesn’t cost you) and playing videos. However, the most lucrative and in my opinion, the best way to earn money from Cashcrate is via their Referral Program. Let’s cover off the latter at the end and start off with the easier ones first – because who doesn’t like easy?!

1. Surveys

Surveys are a super easy and quick way to earn some money online with CashCrate. If you have a few spare moments when you’re online, rather than reading pointless forums and news articles, take a look at the ‘daily surveys’ and ‘top surveys’ every day and start earning some extra money in your free time.

To get started with surveys, you will need to get qualified for one based on certain criteria or demographic as required for the survey. Demographics can include age, race, economic status, level of education, income level and employment, etc. Some surveys may want to collect results from a broad range of demographics or only from a specific demographic of the population so qualifying for a survey is entirely out of your control unfortunately.

If you do not qualify for a survey, don’t give up! Keep trying until you reach the maximum surveys found for you or try your luck on a different survey section. When you are qualified for a survey, remember to answer questions truthfully, read the questions carefully and follow the instructions provided.

You will also need to complete the survey until the end to make sure you get paid!

2. Offers

Most members will earn their initial money with CashCrate by taking up free and paid offers. Once you’re logged in, click on the “OFFERS” tab to see what’s available. Offers denoting a “$” are your paid offers, which initially cost you money to sign up for but offer a higher payout, so essentially it won’t cost you anything in the end. Free offers do not have the “$” next to them.

Free Offers

Free offers are provided by companies that will pay you to sign up to their website for a free service or to join their email database to receive special offers and discounts. The offers will vary but generally only require you to complete a form and providing your email address. Free offers are generally easier and faster to sign up to compared to the paid offers. Try to look for the highest paying and easiest to complete offers when you’re scrolling through. Most of the offers should only take you a few minutes to complete.

Paid Offers

Paid offers that require you to pay money first will offer the highest payouts. These are the offers that require you to pay upfront first but will pay you more in return for your initial “investment”.

Be sure to read the fine print when completing any of the paid offers. Many users have complained about unexpected transactions appearing on their bank statements. Be sure to also note any cancellation periods, trial periods or recurring billing. Most of the paid offers are one time payment paid offers so you need to cancel after the first month if you don’t want to use the service and stop any monthly recurring payments. Most often you need to only pay for at least one month of service for CashCrate won’t pay you.

3. Videos

These are video advertisements you watch to get paid. Taking into account the time it takes and the payout you receive, it’s not a very good deal in comparison to the other ways you can make money as discussed above.

4. Referral Program

CashCrate has a two tier referral system that has multiple levels and offers different payouts for each level. The starting level payout is 20% of offer earnings plus 10% of the second tier offer earnings. This means that if you refer someone and then they refer someone, you will earn money from their referral as well. The more users you refer to CashCrate, the more you earn with the opportunity to earn as much as 30% of your referral’s earnings and 20% of their referral’s earnings. There are also other bonuses and incentive like $3 when you referral makes their first $10.

In terms of time and payout, the Referral Program is definitely the most lucrative out of all of the above methods, but naturally, also the hardest. With clever content marketing, and leveraging the power of word of mouth and your network of friends, making money via the referral program is definitely possible!

Is CashCrate legit?

This questions seems to appear quite along on the web. There are loads of reviews and articles citing CashCrate as legit and you can also find visual proof of this (just do a Google image search for “CashCrate proof” and you’ll see tonnes of photos of cheques received by CashCrate members).

It’s a decent way to make a few extra bucks and although it might not be enough for you to quit your day job immediately, it’s a good way to spend some of your time when you’re bored and browsing the internet doing not much else anyway!

Is CashCrate for me?

If you’re looking for easy and simple ways to make money online then Cashcrate is definitely worth a look. Do your research and know what to expect before going in. Once you’re all set up and familiar with CashCrate, it’s recommended you set a routine for yourself and targets to keep you motivated. Whether it’s completing a number of surveys a day or signing up to a number of offers each day. Start small, and very soon you’ll be getting your first paycheck in the mail from CashCrate! Put simply, you will get what you put in. Good luck!
