Gone are the days when people relied solely on printed publications for their daily dose of news, information, and entertainment. This day and age has introduced the world to platforms such as blogging — a great way to impart ideas, to market businesses, to create a major following, and so much more.

Blogging offers so many advantages, both to the readers and to the blogger. Running a blog is not only fulfilling; it is also a great way to earn money, as long as you know the necessary steps to take.

If you’re thinking of starting your own blog and making money out of it but have no real clue how or where to begin, read on and get to know the process involved in this rewarding and enjoyable venture.

Know Your Purpose

A good way to start any kind of project is to sit down and gather your thoughts, scribble ideas, and be honest about your purpose. Why are you blogging in the first place? If you start blogging without any real purpose, you might end up with a million topics but no solid foundation. Sure, there is an extensive list of interesting blog posts to write, but specifying your purpose will help develop a clear and focused identity for your blog.

Your purpose can be anything — a particular interest such as travel or music, an advocacy, a school of thought or theory, a lifestyle you want to promote, and so on.

If you are having a confusing time determining your purpose, try to expand your perspective and look at your life as a whole. Ask yourself: What has been the theme of your life so far? Many bloggers have been greatly inspired by their own life stories that some of them started a blog because of a particular life event, such as giving birth or moving to a new place.

You don’t have to experience something dramatic or life-changing to start blogging; all you need is to know your true intentions and your goals. From there, you can proceed to the next step.

Identify Whom You’re Writing For

Knowing your purpose in blogging comes with identifying your blog audience. Who do you want to affect with your writing? As the saying goes, “You can’t please everyone.” If you wish to capture all types of readers, from pre-teens to the elderly, you might be wasting your time. After all, different people have different interests, so do yourself a favor and focus on a specific group.

It’s easier if you’re clear about your purpose. For instance, if you intend to blog about parenting, then your readers will most likely be parents, guardians, and caregivers. The task here is to have a niche, e.g. parenting for toddlers, for teenagers, or for children with special needs. Having direction will lead you to knowing your target audience.

Choose an Engaging Design

An interesting blog topic should be translated through a smart blog design. You may have clear direction and purpose, a defined audience, and well-written blog posts, but without an engaging design, you may end up with a few readers. People are highly visual these days, so be sure that your blog design suits your audience and reflects your topic well.

Your design may not be clear when you initially start blogging, but that’s perfectly okay. Great designs come into fruition once you actually start drafting it, so start experimenting and keep in mind that you can always change your design if you don’t like it. You may hire a professional designer or artist if you want, but most blog platforms have ready-to-use themes that are easy to customize. It’s all a matter of knowing the basic principles of design, such as what colors go well together and what typography styles to utilize.

Post Interesting Content Regularly

Posting interesting content regularly is crucial in running a blog. Ideally, the schedule of your blog posts should be consistent. For example, you can post every Tuesdays and Fridays. A smart way of posting regular content while keeping it diverse is to determine what type of content to post for specific days, e.g. videos on Tuesdays and text blog posts on Fridays. As you start blogging, you will notice that readers want a mix of diversity and predictability.

Balance is critical in blogging. Make sure to consider not only your own great ideas, but also the readers’ preferences. After all, blogging isn’t just about you; it’s largely about contributing something to the people reading your masterpiece.

Bloggers get easily caught up with the topics they want to share, dismissing the comments of readers. Although you shouldn’t bend backward just to please everyone, you shouldn’t be turning deaf ears to the comments given to you either, especially if they’re constructive and helpful to your growth as a writer and blogger. If readers are regularly commenting about specific things like insensitive language use or explicit content, maybe it’s time to reconsider what you share.

Promote Your Blog

Great content is useless if you do not promote your blog regularly. Treat your blog as a brand and a business, especially if you want to earn money out of it. Entrepreneurs and business tycoons swear by marketing; they say that you should allot 20% of your time perfecting a product and spend the remaining 80% promoting it. This is also true in blogging.

Social media is one of the most effective ways to promote your blog. Be visible in all the major social media outlets: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. The key to properly navigating through all these is to know what each social media site does best. Facebook is intended for socialization and sharing, so share your posts in an engaging way that will elicit shares and comments. Twitter is great for making statements and announcements, so link all your blog posts to your Twitter account. Pinterest and Instagram are best used for visual media. Linking your blog to these social media sites will undoubtedly help build a wider audience for your blog.

Another surefire way to promote your blog is to allow RSS feeds and be open to subscribers. RSS feeds allow readers to directly subscribe to your blogs so that they are easily updated about new posts.

Be Open to Advertisements

Advertisements are the most popular way to monetize any blog. Once your blog is widely read, you can now allot space for advertisements, such as banner ads or clickable side panel ones. Blog platforms such as WordPress and Blogger have detailed instructions on how to register to have advertisements visible on your blog.

If creating space for banner, side panel, or pop-up ads isn’t your thing, you may want to try writing sponsored posts or working directly with a brand. For instance, if you’re a food blogger, you can write a blog post about a restaurant and be paid for it. Writing reviews also help monetize your blog.

Blogging requires creativity and resourcefulness. An open attitude leads to success, whether it’s a blog that creates a positive impact to its readers, or one that helps you earn extra income.

As most large corporations know very well, customer engagement is one of the keys to building long term customer loyalty and revenue streams. Many companies spent $100 billion on customer engagement efforts several years ago. Today, it’s probably much more than that.

However, customer engagement isn’t something that only the largest multinational corporations should worry about. Small businesses too can greatly benefit from finding new ways to keep their customers engaged with their products and brands for the long term. Below is an overview of five strategies a small business can use to strengthen its customer engagement.

Engage Your Local Audience

Most small businesses tend to exist in one specific geographic area. While you may want to expand to much larger than that, you must first build loyalty amongst the customers you already have to make that someday possible. Put a lot of effort towards engaging your local customers by providing localized content and becoming directly involved in the community. Things like charity fund raisers and child’s sports team sponsorships can go a long way to helping engrain a business into a community.

It can also pay off in a big way. Local searches performed on mobile devices have a turnaround rate of one day for leading to customers actually visiting a local business.

Engage with Social Media

Today, social media is by far the number one way companies directly interact with customers outside the sale of products and services. Social media is basically one giant customer engagement tool. It allows company social media representatives to interact directly with individual customers and receive quick and direct feedback on products and services. Before social media, obtaining the same kind of direct feedback was both difficult and expensive. Today, it’s as easy as sending out a tweet.

The audience you can produce on social media can be massive. 78 percent of Americans have at least one social media profile.

Create Content that Engages

You should also consider creating some content that supplements your products and helps keep customers engaged with your company. While this may seem too expensive for a small business, it really isn’t. Typing blog articles or creating video content for YouTube can be done for free or for very little money. All it takes is a little more effort. Overall, make sure the content your produce creates some value for your customers whether it is informing them or entertaining them.

Track Your Engagement Online

If your company is mostly an online entity or you post online content, tracking customer engagement is easier than you probably think. For example, you can use Google Analytics to show what pages of yours people are visiting and how long they are engaging with that content. It can also do things like help you keep track of the number of file downloads. As for social media, there are many choices made available by networks like Twitter and Facebook as well as third party apps to help you track user engagement with your posts. Most of these are free.

Expand Your Business through Customer Engagement

The great thing about customer engagement is it can allow you to reach customers in markets you never had access to before. Thanks to new cable infrastructure and satellite technology, nearly every corner of the world has access to the internet. If someone has a computer or a smartphone, they are a potential customer. Experiment with engaging with consumers in far away markets. You may create new revenue streams from places you would never imagine would be interested in your small business’s products.

Surviving for the long term as a company means creating a loyal customer base that comes back to your products time and time again. If you want to increase loyalty, focus on improving customer engagement. It is one proven strategy for keeping customers involved with your brand and products for the long haul.

An increasing number of companies are hiring employees who work from remote locations. These employees might be situated in the same region as the head office, or they could work in another state or even another country.

Companies hire these virtual employees for a variety of reasons. One is that workers with the required skills might not be available in commuting distance of the office. Another, the costs of retaining remote employees can be lower than those for in-house employees. A third is that the Internet has made working remotely practical and efficient.

But the benefits also come with drawbacks. Remote employees are less easily monitored than those who work in-house and can, therefore, be less accountable and less productive; they are likely to be unfamiliar with the way in which a company operates and find it difficult to absorb the corporate culture in the way that in-house staff can do; they are less directly engaged with staff and management; and they can feel distant from office happenings.

These drawbacks can be mitigated, however, with a meaningful onboarding program that engages virtual employees and helps to retain them.

Why You Need an Onboarding Program

An onboarding program integrates remote employees into a company and its organization. At one level, it provides them with the documentation and other tools that they need to perform their jobs effectively. At another level, it introduces them to the company’s culture, the ways in which it operates, its values and its work ethic, so that the employees can relate to the organization and feel they are a part of the extended corporate family.

It also helps to build a relationship with the remote employee who might otherwise feel unnoticed or unappreciated. Ideally, an onboarding program should be introduced to new hires as soon as is practical, ensuring that they feel comfortable coming on board with the organization and become familiar with its operations in a short time.

What an Onboarding Program Can Achieve

A major obstacle faced when employing remote workers is that they cannot be welcomed in person and be personally introduced to staff and management. Working in a different time zone creates an additional barrier. An in-house employee can ask questions as they start working and becoming accustomed to the company’s systems; a remote employee might have to wait several hours to do so. In addition, questions need often to be answered with the help of a demonstration and explanation that is more easily conveyed in person than remotely.

Body language becomes significant, as do such aspects as a personable and helpful approach. Even a chat over a cup of coffee is a helpful way to introduce a new employee to an office environment. The result can be that remote employees develop a different impression of company culture than their in-house counterparts.
An effective onboarding program is aimed at overcoming these obstacles. Here are keys to help you onboard your remote workers.

1. Connect Person-To-Person

To overcome the obstacles of getting to know an employee remotely, you should consider bringing a worker into the office for a week before the employee starts working remotely. They will gain all the benefits that an in-house employee has. If it is impractical to bring the employee into the office, you should use all the tools available to you to replicate the in-house experience.

The most valuable of such tools is video conferencing. For example, sitting around a table and chatting with a remote employee enables body language and eye contact to be observed. Also, a virtual tour of the office will help to orientate a remote worker.

Set aside time for extensive video or voice discussions in the beginning, just as you would conducting a face-to-face dialogue with a new hire in the office. Introduce the remote employee to fellow workers so that, in future discussions, remote employees can visualize the people with whom they are talking. They will feel less remote and less secluded. You might want to set up a regular time, daily or weekly, to talk with a remote employee to guide them and show them they are involved.

2. Make Your Expectations Clear

Explain to your remote employees from the outset what you expect from them. Ensure they know their duties, their responsibilities, and the importance of meeting deadlines for projects. Make them acquainted with your company’s telecommuting rules. They should know to whom they will report, what their goals are, how they will be evaluated, and whether they are capable of issuing instructions to other members of staff.

Make sure, too, that they know which tools they will use to communicate with staff and management. You might prefer them to use email, for example, rather than the telephone. It helps to put such issues in writing, thereby avoiding confusion and even confrontation. Assign members of management to keep in regular touch with individual remote employees and to coach and mentor them.

3. Make Them Feel Welcome

An important element in any company is a culture of trust. Employees should feel free to suggest changes, to know that their opinions are valued, and to understand that fellow employees are colleagues, not competitors. Creating trust is harder when working remotely.

You should work actively to ensure that it exists, that your remote employees feel they are welcome as part of a team and are as important team members as those in the office. Make sure, too, that the in-house workers welcome their new colleagues as valuable members of staff and that remoteness does not mean a lack of connection and cooperation.

4. Regularly Evaluate the Process

Once you set up the system and it has had time to work, evaluate it to see whether it is achieving the aims that you set for it. Ask the new remote employees for feedback; determine whether they have been confused and whether they still know what is expected of them. If you feel your original aims have not been achieved, refine them to ensure they are reached.

Conclusion

Sometimes you have to search outside your immediate area for employees who have the skills that you need. An important element of hiring such employees who work remotely is to ensure that they become part of the company team, that they know what is expected of them, and that they adapt to the company culture.

The demands of communication over the Internet and working in different time zones means achieving these goals can be a challenge, but the obstacles can be overcome with the implementation of a good onboarding program as soon as the employee is hired. Both the employee and the corporation will benefit.

Ultimately, bigger companies are in much better position to weather that comes on their way. They can survive downturns for longer, have more clout with which to negotiate better deals and can push their smaller competitors around. For that reason, it’s very important indeed that if you have a business you try to raise it to the next level as quickly as possible.

You want strategies that will allow you to raise your business to the next level. Here I’ve put together some of the best ideas that you can use. Though not every piece of advice will work for everybody, there is enough for you to bring it to life.

Learn to delegate

When I was working in the writing service, I had this Boss who was just incredible. He’d roll out, give the orders and then return to his desk to play FreeCell. Then, when the clock struck five he headed homeward. In our modern-day society, you might think this was a recipe doomed for disaster.

It was anything but.

You see, this Boss was an absolute star at delegating. He knew exactly how much people could manage and who could deliver the best result. And, because he didn’t do the work himself, he was there to manage any situation when it arose immediately, without ever losing oversight of what was going on.

Sure, we weren’t happy he didn’t actually do any of the work himself, but nobody could fault him for being highly efficient.

So do what he did. Learn to delegate, avoid micromanaging and, though you might not want to play computer games, make sure you’re not up to your eyeballs in work. Because when you can avoid that you’ll have the time you need to deal with the problems that come along.

Know when to hire and when to fire

Hire slowly. This really is important as a bad hire will costs you severely. Not only will they not do their job, but they’ll bring down morale, suck up valuable resources that you could have used to train better staff and in other ways just cause headaches. Besides, there are plenty of extra costs associated with hiring extra staff that most people forget. And, of course, you can also get professional help anytime you need it.

For that reason, spend a lot (And I mean a lot) of time reviewing candidates and don’t be afraid to keep looking if somebody doesn’t fit the bill.

Similarly, if you know somebody isn’t working out, fire them. Yes, sometimes they’ll grow into the role. And in that case, you might be well pleased that you kept them on board. The thing is that only happens sometimes. More often, down the line, you find yourself regretting not having fired them before. And in the long run, that’s going to cost you more than you save when giving somebody a third chance works out well.

Work on your communication

A company can only ever be as good as how well people that work there communicate with each other. For only if people communicate clearly can you make sure that the message gets across and the job gets done properly. Of course, the most important person that needs to be able to communicate well is you. So start there.

Make your writing great and straightforward, whether you’re writing papers or emails. You don`t always have to be a thesis writer to succeed in this situation; just do your best to make everything as good as possible. Also work on your phone communication, your body language and whatever other channels you use to communicate with. Then you can be sure that you get the message across directly – no matter whether you`re assisting in dissertation writing or giving your staff their evaluation.

Business needs tracking

Big data is changing business. And so, obviously, you want to use it as well – perhaps not today but somewhere soon. The thing is that you can’t work out your internal factors or how they relate to the world at large unless you actually have the data to put into the algorithms.

For that reason, track everything. It doesn’t matter when the lights get turned on or off, what the temperature is at or how many emails people send out and who needs writing help. Track it all. You never know what will be useful somewhere down the line. And as storage is so cheap it might as well be free, what’s stopping you?

In that way, when you do get around doing that data analysis you’ll have so much data that the data analysts won’t even need to spend any time collecting new stuff. It’s all there. They just have to compare it.

Lead from the front

You can lead by telling and you can lead by showing. Which one do you think inspires people more? The great advantage of showing people how to behave is that it doesn’t just add more words, but instead creates an atmosphere and a culture. And as you’re the Boss, that culture can easily become the governing mentality at your company.

In that way, you can make sure that people behave the way you want them to. All you need to do is say ‘be like me’. If you can’t say that, then you really need to re-explore your behavior. Because a lot of people resent being told to do things that you yourself obviously won’t.

Our age is the age of the entrepreneur. Do you want in too? Taking a leap of faith and becoming a full-time, successful entrepreneur can seem like a daunting prospect, but there are many smart ways to control your fears. Whether you are afraid of failure, or just aren’t sure where to start, get some fresh perspective on a potentially challenging situation. Here are six proven ways to start your entrepreneur journey full of enthusiasm and hope, not apprehension!

Visualize your success — starting now

Positive visualization is a strategy that a lot of top entrepreneurs swear by. The idea is that if you concentrate and visualize your success, then you will start to stand taller, breathe freer, and believe in your own ideas more.

Start small. Try some easy visualization sequences to get your started — it might make you feel slightly awkward at first, but it’s a proven way to invite confidence and success into your life. You can also use visual cues like mood boards to help you ‘see’ success.

Having a negative mindset will be a huge drain on your energy and motivation levels, so try to find exercises, affirmations, and methods that work for you. Not everyone needs to create a dream roadmap, but a little positive imagination can make all the difference.

Test the waters with your customer base

Jump before you are 100% ready to — you might find that you’ll fly!

Go out there and test your ideas and brand using surveys and questionnaires, and you will quickly start to pick up positive energy from all the feedback. Especially in today’s social media age, there is NO EXCUSE for not testing out your ideas. Create a Facebook page or Twitter poll in minutes, and then outreach it to all your contacts.

Based on initial feedback, you may need to tweak your value propositions or ideas. Take on constructive customer criticism, and use it to grow and refine your business idea. Being out there and having real conversations with people about your business is an amazing motivational kickstarter!

Hang out with the right people

Being an entrepreneur is a lifestyle choice. And trust me, there are people in your life who are going to want you to walk away from it. Whether it’s friends who don’t get why you’re ‘always working’, or an ex-colleague who is seeding doubts in your mind, you need to learn how to block out the negativity. Other people’s negative opinions and thoughts can quickly pollute your own.

You can’t always escape from other people’s toxic opinions, so you need to counterbalance them out by hanging out with people who are going to inspire you during your journey. This could be simply sharing a coffee with a trusted mentor, or meeting with someone who has already made the transition and succeeded at becoming an entrepreneur.

Even if you can’t directly hang out with them, listening to entrepreneur podcasts is a really easy way to get access to positive people fast. Just learning from their experiences, and hearing them describe their journey, will inspire you on your own. Get listening on your commute around town and feel your levels of motivation soar.

Get an entrepreneurial headstart

You don’t have to do things the hard way in 2017 anymore. Yes, starting from scratch is satisfying, but there are so many ways to automate and growth hack entrepreneurial growth. If you are feeling a little unsure, getting a little headstart with your business is a great way to instantly boost your confidence.

Buy a business that’s already making money and take it on yourself. For ecommerce businesses, browse websites like Exchange, or then head to ecommerce groups on Facebook and express interest in buying a store. Make sure you have a realistic budget in mind, and clarify what exactly you’re getting in the sale — you might have to pay extra for design assets, stock, or supplier contacts.

Join a course or an online community aimed at people starting their first business. There are plenty of great courses out there that give you an awesome launchpad, but it’s wise to stick to the bigger vendors so that you’re sure you’re getting a good deal.

Start a blog

Blogging is one of the easiest ways to get out there and start testing your personal brand and resilience. Committing to sharing content and developing your blog’s audience are both great ways to see whether you are ready to run the show.

Getting feedback on your content and developing your own readership is a really empowering and positive journey. Many people love blogging so much that it ends up becoming their full-time gig, and there are a ton of cool ways to monetize a blog: from affiliate links to advertising and brand partnerships.

Be honest about your fears

By saying something out loud, we reduce it. If things are playing on your mind, getting them out there in the world can be a great way to put them into perspective.

As a budding entrepreneur, you are probably worried about things like time management, stress levels, financial stability — all of these problems can be managed by breaking them down into bitesize chunks. Don’t worry about the state of your finances ten or fifteen years down the line — look ahead to the next few months instead. Speak to a financial advisor to get some perspective, or go into a bank to talk about funding options if you’re really concerned. (And don’t forget to explore crowdfunding on sites like Kickstarter).

Stress and time management can be managed, taught, and learned. From breaking down complex tasks into 25 minute activity bursts to daily meditation — there are plenty of ways to manage a seemingly endless workload.

Don’t let fear of failure, or fear of the unknown, stop you from following your dreams. Running your own business is full of ups and downs, but it’s a great way to grow as a person. Be ready to square up and face your fears, but also be gentle with yourself. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a successful business!

Communication is a critical element in all aspects of life including the workplace. Some business communication skills are necessary for the success of any business. Any professional who masters these communication skills will be able to work smart and deliver the intended results. This article presents nine communication skills that every professional has to master.

Active Listening

This term refers to the ability to listen to the views of other individuals in the workplace and incorporating them in the communication process. The art of listening demonstrates that the person values the opinion of other people and is open to new ideas. Listening can assist the professional to make decisions that work for the good of the enterprise. Your team members will look at the active listener as an equal partner. Active listening entails some pausing for interjections, repeating the words that the person is saying, and affirming your engagement in the communication. It can be very demoralizing to discover that you are talking to a person who has no interest in what you are saying.

Verbal Skills

Talking is one of the most important skills that are used to pass over information. The elements that make up information include updates, opinions, thoughts, and ideas. Oral communication in the workplace has specific guidelines and should be very concise. You should not use a lot of words to pass across a simple point. Employees use verbal communication to interact with one another in person in the workplace. Employees use verbal communications skills to come to a consensus with their colleagues. One thing that makes the spoken communication to be important in the workplace is that it is the primary mode of communication. Each person should learn to use the right words and tone while addressing his colleagues in the workplace.

Writing

Writing entails the use of specific examples and data in the written form to put forward a solid case and proposed items of the communication process. Communication through writing has to be brief but informative. Written communication should assist the target audience to focus on the important points only. Written communication should also have a complete follow-up process as it closes any loops in the communication process and displays proactive activity towards the achievement of the organizational goals.

Presentation Skills

Professionals should learn to present their ideas and information in an effective, motivating, and engaging manner. Presentation skills will allow the person to share the evidence that supports his argument or ideas with the audience. The presenter can use data, examples, or stories to put across his message. The presenter can also use questions to make the presentation appealing to the listeners. As a professional, you must ensure that your presentation is engaging. Use some computer software like PowerPoint to make the session more interactive. You don’t want to lose your audience in the middle of the conversation session because it is uninteresting.

Business Texting

The popularity of business texting has been on the rise in the modern business environment. Entrepreneurs continue to appreciate the importance of this mode of communication in the business environment. The organization can send bulk messages to several customers in a very efficient manner. One reason that makes this communication process appropriate is the fact that it allows you to send messages to the mobile device of the client. We are living in a world where everyone has a mobile gadget for communicating and hence we cannot overlook this channel.

The technique is effective because it reduces the bounce rate of the information. The approach is also real-time because the data gets to the audience with immediate effect. You will agree to the fact that business texting is personalized. The audience like this type of messages because they are directly addressed to them. The receiver will feel as if the organization values them and takes care of their needs. The most important factor to consider in this communication process is that the message should be clear and precise. No one wants to read very long messages before extracting the meaning of the text. Business communication is one of the cheapest but most efficient channels of business communication.

Negotiation Skills

One of the elements that characterize most workplaces is diversity. However, communication skills can allow the team to achieve unity in diversity which works for the good of the enterprise. Negotiation skills can assist the employees to reach a solution that is mutually beneficial to the organization. It will allow you to understand and leverage the position of the other side. The opposing forces strive to get to a win-win solution. This solution is favorable and assisting in maintaining positive working relationships that support future interactions. You must understand the most agreeable and influential factors of the opposing side for you to get to this outcome. Negotiation has all to do with giving and taking before you come to a consensus.

Selling Skills

Modern entrepreneurs will tell you that each employee is a sales person in his or her capacity. You have to market your brand irrespective of your position in the organization. Professionals can use several methods to persuade clients to consume their goods and services. You can learn from the sales team because the way you serve and talk to potential and existing customers matters a lot.

Teamwork Skills

No organization can thrive unless there is team work in the workplace. Each team member must learn to appreciate the opinions and talents of other players. Teamwork skills have a lot to do with tolerance in the workplace. It begins with putting aside any personal differences and working towards the common goal. Just handle your colleagues that way you would like them to handle you.

Productive Pushback

Any professional should possess excellent conflict management skills. The truth of the matter is that managers spend most of their time resolving conflicts. Productively pushing back is one of the most effective conflict management techniques. Another important entrepreneurial skill is the ability to communicate under pressure. The most important thing is resolution and clarity.

You run a successful business. You get good results and good engagement on all your social channels. It seems like you’re doing everything right and getting the results you want.

Now, what if I told you that you could be doing even better? What if there was a way to reach even more of your target audience by making one tiny adjustment to how you present just some of your content? We’re not even talking about sweeping change, just adding one extra element to specific posts.

The Secret

There is no doubt that in the world of social media in particular, there is no more powerful content medium than video. Its power can make or break an ad campaign or even a brand. Good video alone will help improve engagement; bad video can crush you flat.

Obviously, you want to keep the quality of your video content high, and most marketers already know the basic ways to do it. The content has to be original, relevant to its target audience, and it has to be well-branded.

More marketers and thought leaders are starting to recognize the value of live streaming as a means of covering all the above bases. Live video is always original, it is easily branded, and it is the most popular video format in use on Facebook today. People are far more apt to stop scrolling to check out a live feed than they would be to watch a polished, high-budget marketing video. The element of realism goes a long way.

Now, it’s likely that, if you have been paying attention to current trends, you have already discovered the value in producing live content. We’re guessing, however, that you haven’t yet thought about one more element that the most successful live videos on social media possess. That is why it is important to know certain hacks to help boost facebook engagement. One of these simple steps is video captioning.

Why Live Captioning?

Reason number one to use live captioning is simple: it is available and it works. Until very recently, publishers of video content could only add captions to pre-produced videos. Today, however, it is easy to add captioning to any live video streaming on Facebook Live. Live captioning works well with Facebook’s native Live API, but there are also third-party services that give you more control. With its nearly seamless integration, why would any responsible marketer not use it?

Live captioning will also help you capture a broader audience by letting viewers watch your videos with the sound turned off. This is a helpful feature to those who view your videos at work or who need a discreet or non-interruptive way to enjoy videos in various public settings

Live captioning is also a useful aid under circumstances where sound quality is not optimal. Many outdoor conditions can detract from the ability to hear or decipher spoken words, whereas, with live captioning, your message gets through with clarity every time.

Let’s not forget the benefit live captioning offers to viewers with hearing disabilities. This was the reason captioning was created in the first place and it creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all viewers.

Final Takeaway

When one considers both the benefits and ease of use of live video captioning, the decision of whether or not to use it becomes very easy. Captioning your live videos brings a greater sense of cohesiveness to the content and helps you keep your viewers amply informed and engaged.

Video captioning also allows viewers to consume and engage with your content at times and in places where it would be otherwise difficult, giving your brand an edge over competitors who don’t use it.

It is highly recommended that you look into a premium video captioning services for the best results and to provide the best possible user experience, but Facebook does offer a basic live captioning experience you can use to gauge changes in levels of engagement at least initially.

Most Americans struggle with their finances. They live paycheck to paycheck. Some are underpaid and overworked. Others are stressed even though they are making a lot of money. Those who are entrepreneurs will either earn their potential or they will struggle to make a living. Most people do not earn their potential; they don’t know how to earn their potential. Here are some ways to unlock your earning potential.

Use Value-Based Pricing — The service you provide fills a need. People want their problems solved, their needs fulfilled and results. You need to begin thinking of the value of the service you are providing. For example, if the client expects you to get their name in a journal, you would charge based on that instead of how long it would take to get that result.

Understand Price and Perceived Value – If you want people to perceive a greater value for your services, increase your rates. Consider how motivational speakers can charge much more for engagements. They are valued as a form of entertainment and charge in the thousands every time they speak somewhere. Think about Apple. All its products are charged more than competitors. People think Apple is better, but that isn’t true. The perception is if it costs more, it must be worth it.

Your Service Must Be Distinct – When you set your prices, you must be able to show that if they use you, they will get your unique methodology, point of view, feature set, delivery, packaging, experience and training. You need to set yourself apart from others, so they are willing to buy from you. Therefore, pricing is no longer the only reason why people are choosing you.

Measure Results – Look at results. When you see that the work you do delivers tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars in results to a client, you are able to show quantitatively how you are worth more than your competitors. You must measure and review with your clients the actual results they get from working with you so that you can confidently begin to price and sell your work based on this knowledge and proof.

Don’t Waver — Stick to your guns. Don’t let the potential client ask for less. You know your worth. Don’t change it. For example, if you believe your service is worth $1,000, don’t let the potential clients talk you into accepting $700. That is $300 you will not ever get back. Also, the people who that client refers to you will expect $700 as the bill too. Stick with the $1,000. If the client doesn’t want to pay that much, you need to let him or her shop elsewhere. Be confident that you are unique and bring value to the table.

Many people don’t value the work they do enough, which means they don’t get paid enough. When they are negotiating, they are willing to accept less just to make some money. They don’t consider the results versus the time to do something. If you try these methods, you will earn more.

No business or enterprise can grow in isolation. You need a list of committed well-wishers, partners, customers and other individuals who will populate the ranks of your personal contacts, to succeed. The idea here is to design and implement a process to attract new connections and at the same time gain the loyalty of those who have been with you. Put up a positive mindset and step out of your comfort zone so that you can entice super networks, and build reliable and resourceful human connections.

Not Just About Creating Contact

Almost every business has contacts lists, relationships, groups, or networks they have built over the years. Establishing a connection may be easy. Sustaining that contact to be able to yield business results is the challenge. You should develop strategies that will allow you to transform these lists into ideas you can use as a competitive advantage.

Treat People like Friends

Whatever you do, never allow people to think you’re trying to sell them something every time meet them. People instantly mark you as another salesman when you give them your business cards during an event. You should make them like you by treating them as friends, having conversations and talking with a high level of decency and maturity. Never put up a face. Be yourself and allow them to discover you.

Describe Yourself in Less Than 20 Seconds

People sometimes would like to know about you, and there is nothing wrong with telling them about what you do. But, be quick about it. Introduce yourself by telling them your name, your business name, where you are based or located, and your specialization. Be professional and attempt to make a strong, early, first impression. From the way you speak, let them feel you are confident, passionate, and sincere. End with a question to spark a useful and engaging conversation.

Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Creating valuable new connections requires that you move out of your comfort zone and go out there. Explore opportunities to connect with consumers, experts, and professionals in your industry. You can offer to deliver a speech at an event or volunteer for a public exhibition. Stepping out of your comfort zone will help you challenge yourself more, share ideas with other people, learn new things and improve your personal contacts.

Provide Help

A toenail fungal infection is a health condition which starts as a yellow or white spot beneath the tip of your toe or finger nail. When the fungal infection advances, your nail discolors, thickens, and eventually crumbles near the edge. The infection may affect either a few nails or all of them. In most cases, mild nail fungus does not require treatment but if you have a severe condition, characterized by thickened nails and intense pain, you are better off trying some home nail fungus remedies before resorting to hospital treatments. The following are some common home remedies for treating a toenail fungal infection.

Oregano Oil

This oil consists of thymol. A review conducted in 2016 concluded that thymol has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Some people combine oregano and tea tree oil when treating fungal infections. Experts advise against this trend since both oils are potent and likely to cause an allergic reaction or irritation. Therefore, combining these oils increases these risks.

Tea Tree Oil

This oil is also known as melaleuca. Tea tree oil is popular for its antiseptic and antifungal abilities. Studies by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health show that this oil is effective in treating toenail fungal infection. This remedy is utilized by applying it directly on the affected toe.

Snake Root Extract

This extract is derived from plants associated with the sunflower family. Snake root extract contains anti-fungal properties which is why it is used for nail fungal infection. In a study conducted in 2008, researchers found that the extract was as effective in treating nail fungal infection as the common prescription medicine ciclopirox. The extract is used externally by applying it on the affected area.

Vicks Vapo Rub

This topical ointment is mainly used for suppressing coughs but its ingredients, eucalyptus oil and camphor, are known to treat nail fungal infection. A 2011 clinical study concluded that Vicks VapoRub was effective in the treatment of toenail fungal infection.

Garlic

According to a review conducted in 2009, Garlic was found to have some antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Many people use garlic on nail fungal infection by placing chopped garlic cloves on the infected toe(s). However, to avoid the smell of garlic, some use garlic capsules.

Listerine Mouthwash

This mouthwash is used against germs and bacteria in the mouth. It is also used for treating nail fungal infection. Listerine mouthwash consists of different properties including alcohol that makes it a strong antiseptic against harmful fungi and bacteria.

Apple Cider Vinegar and White Vinegar

This treatment is slightly acidic and helps stop the spread of toenail fungal infection. Apple cider vinegar also kills fungi and bacteria. This remedy is used externally by mixing it with water and soaking your foot on the solution. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar to fight the infected part and restore the pH of your skin. White vinegar is also used externally by mixing it with water and soaking the affected foot in the solution.

Baking Soda

This remedy is found in most kitchens and has proven to be effective in treating fungal infections such as nail fungal infection. Baking soda also neutralizes foot odor. Baking soda is used externally by mixing it with hydrogen peroxide and Epsom salt, and soaking the affected foot in the solution.

Honey

Honey is common for the treatment of sore throats. It also has antibiotic properties. Honey consists of hydrogen peroxide, a strong component against bacteria and for healing wounds. Honey also has anti-fungal properties which enable it to heal nail fungal infection by removing toxins from the foot. Honey is used externally by applying it on the affected toenail and wrapping the toe with gauze.
Home remedies can be more effective in treating toenail fungal infection when compared to prescription drugs. However, when using these remedies, a few things should be considered such as the severity of the infection, nail penetrability, and your overall health. If symptoms persist after using any of these home remedies, consult a doctor.
