Why do you Blog?…for Pride
Now this part on the Series of Why Do You Blog? may be the most subtle and rare reason for blogging, but nevertheless, I thought I would outline some of the major points involved and a few case study examples of Blogging For Pride.
According to Wikipedia, refers to “a strong sense of self-respect, a refusal to be humiliated as well as joy in the accomplishments of oneself or a person, group, or object that one identifies with“. Blogging was born by people wanting to express themselves in the form of an online diary. Since then it has simply become an easy way to make and maintain a website. These originial people felt that they needed to portray their feelings in text, on the internet, so that either they could feel better about themselves, or they could show other people that they were capable of doing things for themselves.
To be overly proud however, isn’t necessarily a good things, especially for a young entrepreneur hoping to make it big in the real world. By remaining modest, you will learn to judge situations properly and without ego, thus ensuring that you make less mistakes and don’t get carried away with spending money. However, having self esteem can help you have character and seem confident to other people. This is important in business when you meet face to face with clients and potential employers.
There are many of examples of people who have managed to “find” their innerselves through blogging. I am one such example, as blogging helps me to relax and feel unique compared to millions of bloggers in the ever expanding blogosphere. After searching around for this topic on Google, I also found someone called Lou, who admitted she blogs only for “ME, ME, ME!” Sometimes whilst writing for a subject that you have real passion for, you’re able to attract a large gathering of people with similar interests. This can generate a feeling of pride due to the fact that you have managed to give relevant information to your audience. I often feel like this, but I try not to feel proud, instead I use that emotion to fuel more articles and more posts for my readers and subscribers.
