5 Reasons Why I Blog
After being tagged by Stu quite a few days ago – I thought it would be decent if I actually wrote back in the form of this blog post. So to carry on the meme, here’s a quick 5 reasons why I blog:
- Blogging distracts me from my own life – yep I seem like a bit of a junkie by saying this, but blogging helps me to forget the different stresses and strains from my current life. School can be set to blame for a lot of this, but taking half an hour each day to check emails immerses my mind in a different online life!
- I get to meet some great people – who wouldve thought that I’d be conversing with a founder of one of the greatest revenue pulling sites in the history of web 2.0? And having the man link to my site as well? Talking, emailing and responding to entrepreneurial comment really has to be my highlight of my blogging journey and I’ve made some great contacts and friends over the past year – some have even helped me to found new ventures online and I’m sure many more will help in the future.
- The pay is not too bad! – in a year I’ve gone from earning 8 bucks in a month to over $200 in the last month. This has come from a close range of sites and companies which again shows how diversification of income is vital in order to succeed.
- Once I pop I can’t stop – like a Pringler, once I start writing, I just can’t seem to stop and all these beautiful sentences just come running out of my brain (like the one you just read). I hope to harness these skills and rope them into an awesome eBook but this won’t be until a few good months until I can actually focus all the energy and stop day dreaming!
- Blogging is just different – ever told your parents that you blog? More likely than not you havn’t because they’ll just end up going to you “HUH?” Blogging hasn’t been around for that long and its still completely understood. A blogger isn’t only a diarist that writes about their personal life. Blogging in my opinion is the grouping of information into a day-by-day, easily accessibly format that allows you to choose a niche and to stick with it and to create a band of loyal followers.
OK so there you have it. As far as the meming goes I suppose I’ll have to tag – so Ray, Connor, Travis, Collis and Matt (welcome back to the net!), get writing!
