A Bumper Advertising Week – TLA, Adbrite and Adsense in Harmony

I know this is yet another post about advertising and my adventure with Adbrite and Text Link Ads (aff.), but I feel its my duty to tell you, as this is probably the best advertising week I’ve ever had with Blogtrepreneur. Such a milestone has to be recognised!

Anyway, I woke up to an email from Patrick Gavin after I had asked him why I still hadn’t been listed in the TLA directory. He apologized and responded to tell me that Blogtrepreneur had been listed. I then looked at my Outlook and saw another email titled “New Ads to be Approved”. I was pretty excited and logged into my TLA account to see that I had 3 ads to accept; 2 of them were for the left hand side sidebar on the site, and 1 surprisingly was for the Blogtrepreneur Feed.

Now I say “surprisingly” because I actually wasn’t counting on selling any feed ad spaces. When I saw my listing, I also saw to my amazement that the price for a link at the end of an article in the feed at $30 is more expensive than a space on the site at $20! So a quick thanks to those guys who are reading this by RSS – and please take a few minutes to visit my first RSS advertiser (if his ad is actually appearing yet).

Now normally I don’t divulge in many income statistics, but because this TLA is so new and because I’ve had a bumper week Im going to share my weeks earnings and split it up into the different sources of income. This may be the first and last time I do this – so enjoy:

  • Google Adsense: $3.24
  • Adbrite: $7.04
  • Text Link Ads: $35 (I’ll update this figure if more ad spaces are sold in the next few days)
  • Article Writing: $25 (this is some work I did for a friend of mine – I charge $10 per article in case you were wondering
  • TOTAL: $70.28

I’ll analyse my journey in one of my next posts because Im just so amazed at the power of the internet. This is the most I’ve ever earnt in 1 week online, and I just can’t wait for future developments. Watch this space!
