Anticipating the End of the World Cup and Wimbledon 2006

So after a gruelling match between France and Italy, which ended in French heartbreak, Italy victors and a Zidane headbutt, the World Cup has finally bade farewell. I wanted to take this opportunity to say how fun it has been to watch, especially in the group stages and the few rounds after (until England got knocked out!).
We also saw the end of the notorious Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, which ended in Federer being truly crowned the King of Grass Courts.

But now that these two tournaments have come to a close, what, if any change will occur?

Firstly, for us internet folk, hopefully we will see an increase in web traffic to our sites. I myself have been experiencing low levels of visitors these past couple of weeks, and I probably owe it to the importance of the World Cup matches taking place. Also, as a knock-on effect, hopefully us entrepreneurial bloggers will see an increase in subscribership and in revenue.

For me as a budding entrepreneur, these huge tournaments have put a mental block on my new ideas and thoughts, so now I hope to be able to express these through the new sites that I am building currently. I won’t give too much away at the moment, but

for all you golf fans, I’ve got a forum worth becoming a member on, and for all you young entrepreneur visiting my site, I have definitely got a site that will help you achieve your goals and dreams.

I’m sure that many offline businesses will also experience a surge in services and sales of their products (if they are non-World Cup related!). Staff will probably be taking less “sick-leave” in order to watch the match, and so productivity will be up. However, mentally, many people may be experiencing depression or “WC withdrawal symptoms”. I know I will be sad that I will only see this tournament again in 4 years time, but so be it. THe next Euro is only 2 years away and that will be worth watching.

So hopefully, the end of the World Cup will have positive effect on us young entrepreneur football fanatics and on all businesses around the globe. We’ve got no excuse to fulfill our goals now, so let’s just hope we can really focus and make these next few months worth remembering in the future! Bring on the Business!
