Resolutions and Targets For 2007
Having thoroughly exhausted 2006, I think its time to move on and go forth with the New Year of 2007. I have big plans, small tweaks and lots more energy which I hope will help me to reach the goals that I’ll set out here. Hopefully these won’t be neglected like many other of our resolutions; instead one of my aims will be to look at these resolutions every week of 2007!
Whilst I have other personal resolutions, I will write about my blogging and business goals for 2007:
1. Increase my online earnings from $100 per month to $200 per month – we always see lots of people making huge leaps (“I want to earn $100,000 this month instead of $500“). Instead of being overly-optimistic, Im going to set myself a reasonable target to make $200 per month. I havn’t got a time goal for this but obviously the sooner the better – in 6 months time would be a good place to start.
In a few forums I’ve broken down my December 2006 earnings, and whilst I won’t make this a habit, I want to demonstrate how much my earnings have built up and diversified since May when I was still earning $2-3 per month in Adsense:
Text Link Ads = $32.86
TLA Affiliate = $25
Adsense = $1.63
Adbrite = $46.20
TOTAL = $105.69
2. Build traffic and RSS readership to Blogtrepreneur to 200 RSS readers within 2-3 months and 500 RSS readers within 6 months – I want traffic to rise as I learn and implement more SEO techniques and for commenting, and voting in polls to increase as well – ie. I want to have something to show for my site growth other than cash.
3. Completely finish The Golf Chum program and launch the software on the site – I actually managed to finish the GolfChum software a few months back but annoyingly didn’t find the time or the vigour to actually launch the dam thing, despite the hype I had been building up about it!
Marketing will be something I will need to read up on more as I need to develop a way for people to want to download the program for convenience and for leisure. On top of this, I have an inbuilt revenue making system in the program which would be fun to follow and keep track of.
4. Combat SPAM on my ChipandChat forum and replenish it with posts – (maybe paying someone to do so), and aim to either sell the site, or encourage more people to signup and start posting!
5. Successfully flip Teentrepreneur – this is my baby site and one which I will be coming back to throughout 2007. I recently installed WordPress and a brand spanking new template courtesy of Mr Pearson.
The site has successfully started building up RSS subscribers and traffic and posts! On top of this I have an even more exciting form of monetization. Im going to write an eBook! Yep Im as excited as you are, and I can already give you a few ideas about the book: it will be primarily aimed at Teenage Entrepreneur who can’t be bothered (like me) to get a job, it will teach them how to build a web presence, and it will have 6 pretty chunky chapters!
The aim of the eBook is to add depth to the Teentrepreneur site, thus hopefully pushing up its eventual sale price. If however, the whole electronic book things is a success, I’ll continue to keep and manage the site.
6. Create more flipper sites – Loads of people like Burt for example, have not only created the 1 flipper but will go on to create many, many sites which will have more chances of selling. Although he has a mountain of content to use, I think I can write some good articles on a number of topics – so 1 flipper per month will be a good achievement to make.
7. Continue to meet people online and share knowledge – This is my most emphasised point. I want to pass on information that I have learnt on my voyage to becoming an online money-maker. So many people helped me and I think it will be a good way to give back to the community. So if you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Similarly, if you’ve got information that you want to share with me – shoot me an email!
I hope 2007 turns about the year you’ve dreamed about. The only way you can make things happen though is through perseverance. Never give up or lose faith – its all about character building, and building your character is one of the most important things you’ll ever do.
